認識中華文明“五個突出特性”的相互聯系

在文(wen)化傳承發展座談會上,習近(jin)平(ping)總書記(ji)以“連續性(xing)(xing)、創(chuang)新性(xing)(xing)、統一性(xing)(xing)、包容性(xing)(xing)、和(he)平(ping)性(xing)(xing)”五(wu)個突出特性(xing)(xing),科學概括(kuo)了中華文(wen)明有(you)別于其(qi)他(ta)文(wen)明的(de)(de)獨特性(xing)(xing),對扎(zha)實推進中華民族現代文(wen)明建設具有(you)重(zhong)要現實意義(yi)。五(wu)個突出特性(xing)(xing)以其(qi)內在的(de)(de)邏輯和(he)歷(li)史(shi)聯系(xi),形成義(yi)旨(zhi)周備、有(you)機(ji)統一的(de)(de)整(zheng)體。

“連續性”是(shi)人類文(wen)明(ming)史中(zhong)的(de)(de)(de)獨特(te)現(xian)象(xiang)。稽之往史,“連續性”是(shi)中(zhong)華文(wen)明(ming)開卷可知的(de)(de)(de)直(zhi)觀特(te)性。中(zhong)國文(wen)化一(yi)(yi)脈相承(cheng),廣被四(si)鄰,有文(wen)字可考的(de)(de)(de)歷史延綿數(shu)千年,未曾發生過文(wen)明(ming)的(de)(de)(de)斷裂或替代,巍然屹立(li)于世界(jie)文(wen)明(ming)之林,并留(liu)下了浩若煙海、詳密(mi)不(bu)斷的(de)(de)(de)典章文(wen)獻作為文(wen)明(ming)傳承(cheng)的(de)(de)(de)印跡。作為人類歷史上(shang)的(de)(de)(de)四(si)大(da)古文(wen)明(ming)之一(yi)(yi),中(zhong)華文(wen)明(ming)是(shi)迄今(jin)為止(zhi)唯一(yi)(yi)一(yi)(yi)個(ge)沒(mei)有中(zhong)斷的(de)(de)(de)文(wen)明(ming),這樣一(yi)(yi)份人類文(wen)明(ming)史上(shang)獨一(yi)(yi)無二(er)的(de)(de)(de)成績,非有深厚的(de)(de)(de)原因,不(bu)能(neng)幸致。

以(yi)(yi)“創(chuang)新(xin)(xin)(xin)性”達(da)致“連續性”。中(zhong)華文(wen)明(ming)(ming)之所以(yi)(yi)能(neng)夠存(cun)續久(jiu)遠,有賴于(yu)其突出的“創(chuang)新(xin)(xin)(xin)性”。“創(chuang)新(xin)(xin)(xin)性”為“連續性”提供(gong)了(le)汲古(gu)開新(xin)(xin)(xin)、繩(sheng)繩(sheng)不(bu)絕的動(dong)力。中(zhong)華文(wen)明(ming)(ming)能(neng)避免(mian)其他古(gu)老(lao)文(wen)明(ming)(ming)生老(lao)死滅的宿命,在于(yu)它(ta)面對新(xin)(xin)(xin)挑戰、新(xin)(xin)(xin)刺激而(er)不(bu)斷有新(xin)(xin)(xin)應對、新(xin)(xin)(xin)創(chuang)造(zao)、新(xin)(xin)(xin)發(fa)展。中(zhong)華文(wen)明(ming)(ming)源遠流長,唯(wei)變(bian)斯定(ding),古(gu)老(lao)而(er)又常新(xin)(xin)(xin),“連續性”與(yu)“創(chuang)新(xin)(xin)(xin)性”兩義相(xiang)輔(fu),決定(ding)了(le)中(zhong)華民族守正不(bu)守舊、尊(zun)古(gu)不(bu)復古(gu)的進取精神。

“連(lian)續性”也為(wei)“創新性”提供了所守之(zhi)“正(zheng)”、所由(you)之(zhi)“源”。任何創新都不(bu)可能憑空翻(fan)新,無所依傍,本源若(ruo)枯竭,下游自(zi)成(cheng)斷港絕潢。傳(chuan)統在不(bu)斷革(ge)新中發(fa)揚(yang),而真正(zheng)成(cheng)功的革(ge)新又促進傳(chuan)統的擴大和充實。中國(guo)文(wen)明的“連(lian)續性”發(fa)展,使(shi)得千百年(nian)來歷朝歷代的創新得以記錄、得以積累、得以傳(chuan)承,文(wen)明成(cheng)果(guo)蘊蓄豐厚,文(wen)明之(zhi)流從數縷清溪匯成(cheng)江河,蜿(wan)蜒千里,沛然莫御(yu),浩大深廣,流衍(yan)不(bu)斷。

“統(tong)(tong)(tong)一(yi)(yi)(yi)性(xing)(xing)”與“連(lian)(lian)續性(xing)(xing)”相(xiang)(xiang)互成(cheng)就。“連(lian)(lian)續性(xing)(xing)”是中華文(wen)明(ming)在時(shi)間上(shang)(shang)的特性(xing)(xing),“統(tong)(tong)(tong)一(yi)(yi)(yi)性(xing)(xing)”則是中華文(wen)明(ming)在空間上(shang)(shang)顯現出來(lai)的特性(xing)(xing)。兩(liang)個(ge)特性(xing)(xing)相(xiang)(xiang)互保證、相(xiang)(xiang)互成(cheng)就。中文(wen)“傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)統(tong)(tong)(tong)”兩(liang)字(zi),即蘊“連(lian)(lian)續性(xing)(xing)”和“統(tong)(tong)(tong)一(yi)(yi)(yi)性(xing)(xing)”兩(liang)義(yi),既有連(lian)(lian)續不(bu)斷、世代相(xiang)(xiang)傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)的意思,又表明(ming)合天下為(wei)一(yi)(yi)(yi)統(tong)(tong)(tong)的祈求。“傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)”有“傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)道(dao)、傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)宗、傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)代、傳(chuan)(chuan)(chuan)衣缽”,“統(tong)(tong)(tong)”有“正統(tong)(tong)(tong)、道(dao)統(tong)(tong)(tong)、治(zhi)統(tong)(tong)(tong)、政(zheng)統(tong)(tong)(tong)、學統(tong)(tong)(tong)、文(wen)統(tong)(tong)(tong)”等說法,無不(bu)說明(ming)中國政(zheng)治(zhi)文(wen)化追求一(yi)(yi)(yi)脈相(xiang)(xiang)承的統(tong)(tong)(tong)緒,把“大一(yi)(yi)(yi)統(tong)(tong)(tong)”視為(wei)“天地之常經,古今之通誼”,將(jiang)“中國”的綿(mian)延永續作為(wei)神圣信仰(yang)。

中國(guo)傳統(tong)(tong)(tong)推(tui)崇“正(zheng)統(tong)(tong)(tong)”之(zhi)義(yi),“正(zheng)”是(shi)“正(zheng)天(tian)下(xia)之(zhi)不(bu)正(zheng)”,“統(tong)(tong)(tong)”是(shi)“合天(tian)下(xia)之(zhi)不(bu)一”。“實現(xian)統(tong)(tong)(tong)一”和“傳承統(tong)(tong)(tong)緒(xu)”成了傳統(tong)(tong)(tong)政(zheng)治的至(zhi)上(shang)(shang)原則(ze)和價值理念。中國(guo)歷史上(shang)(shang)多(duo)次發生過少數民族入主(zhu)中原的情(qing)形(xing),他們也(ye)以入承大統(tong)(tong)(tong)、四海一家為(wei)追求,延(yan)續了中國(guo)文化;中國(guo)歷史上(shang)(shang)也(ye)多(duo)次發生過政(zheng)治分裂和軍(jun)事割(ge)據(ju),但是(shi)沒有造成文化上(shang)(shang)的斷絕,即使在(zai)分裂時期,政(zheng)治人物仍(reng)向往著“創業繼統(tong)(tong)(tong)”,“大一統(tong)(tong)(tong)”之(zhi)義(yi)仍(reng)是(shi)中華民族執著的追求,這保(bao)證(zheng)了數千年文明史上(shang)(shang),中華文明始終能(neng)在(zai)統(tong)(tong)(tong)一、分裂而(er)又(you)復(fu)歸于統(tong)(tong)(tong)一的軌道上(shang)(shang)連(lian)續運行(xing)。

“統一性”確保(bao)(bao)了(le)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華文(wen)明的(de)(de)超大規(gui)模,使其(qi)在遭受外來(lai)挑戰(zhan)之(zhi)(zhi)時更加長于防衛,從而(er)獲得“連續(xu)性”發展。近代中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)遭遇“三千年(nian)未有(you)之(zhi)(zhi)大變局”,被迫卷入現代世界體系(xi)。但是因為(wei)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)足夠(gou)大,文(wen)化凝聚力足夠(gou)強,在中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)人民艱苦(ku)卓絕(jue)的(de)(de)抗爭(zheng)之(zhi)(zhi)下,帝國(guo)主義列強無法實(shi)行滅亡和瓜分中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)的(de)(de)殖民政策(ce)。近代中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)保(bao)(bao)持了(le)領(ling)土(tu)的(de)(de)大體完整,中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華文(wen)明的(de)(de)“連續(xu)性”沒有(you)因為(wei)西方的(de)(de)殖民擴張而(er)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)斷(duan)。

以(yi)“包容(rong)(rong)性(xing)”涵(han)育“統(tong)一性(xing)”。“統(tong)一性(xing)”是(shi)“包容(rong)(rong)性(xing)”的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)前(qian)提,而“包容(rong)(rong)性(xing)”使(shi)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)統(tong)一成為有(you)機的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)而非(fei)機械的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)、強(qiang)韌的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)而非(fei)脆薄的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)。在中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)文明逐步(bu)擴展(zhan)和(he)漸次融(rong)合的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)進程中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong),無論中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)原王朝的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)開疆拓(tuo)土還是(shi)四邊(bian)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)歸化(hua)內徙,各民族(zu)之所以(yi)能走向團結統(tong)一,緣于各民族(zu)經(jing)濟上(shang)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)相(xiang)(xiang)互(hu)依存、情感上(shang)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)相(xiang)(xiang)互(hu)親近(jin),更(geng)緣于文化(hua)上(shang)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)兼收并蓄。中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)文化(hua)創造了一整套秩序體系和(he)知識話(hua)語(yu),以(yi)“中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)”為中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong),層層圍(wei)拱,層層簇聚(ju),使(shi)得環中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)而處者(zhe),慕華(hua)風、易胡俗,最終與中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)相(xiang)(xiang)融(rong)。在這樣極具包容(rong)(rong)性(xing)的(de)(de)(de)(de)(de)秩序體系和(he)話(hua)語(yu)體系中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong),不以(yi)族(zu)群和(he)地域來區分文明和(he)野蠻,而是(shi)大(da)家共同接受中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)文化(hua)陶冶(ye)熔鑄。

“包容性(xing)”成就(jiu)了(le)“連續(xu)”“統(tong)一”,是(shi)中華文明(ming)(ming)延續(xu)綿長的(de)(de)重要原因(yin)。中國在秦(qin)漢王朝之后,雖經長達(da)三百余(yu)年(nian)的(de)(de)分裂,還是(shi)迎來了(le)再(zai)度統(tong)一并走向隋唐的(de)(de)強大(da)輝(hui)煌(huang)。這是(shi)各民族文化(hua)長期交織互灌、錯綜醞釀的(de)(de)結果,正(zheng)是(shi)“包容”帶來的(de)(de)制度文化(hua)“創(chuang)新”,使得(de)中華文明(ming)(ming)能再(zai)度“統(tong)一”而得(de)以(yi)“連續(xu)”發展。

反過來(lai)講,“連(lian)續”“統一”也保證了“包容性(xing)”。上千年的“連(lian)續性(xing)”文明(ming)積厚(hou)流(liu)光,方(fang)能滋養出(chu)(chu)足夠的文化(hua)自信和開放包容的心態,使得中華文明(ming)面(mian)對外來(lai)文化(hua)時,發展出(chu)(chu)宏深的接受消(xiao)融能力,海納眾流(liu),在同其(qi)他文明(ming)的交(jiao)流(liu)互(hu)鑒(jian)中不斷(duan)創(chuang)新(xin)。

“和(he)平性(xing)”與(yu)其他四個特性(xing)互(hu)為(wei)一體。中華文明(ming)(ming)作為(wei)“連續”而“統(tong)一”的(de)(de)(de)(de)農耕文明(ming)(ming),相(xiang)比于(yu)游牧文明(ming)(ming)乃(nai)至后起的(de)(de)(de)(de)商(shang)業文明(ming)(ming),農業生產(chan)需要(yao)較長的(de)(de)(de)(de)周期,尤賴于(yu)穩定的(de)(de)(de)(de)社會秩(zhi)序(xu)。需要(yao)統(tong)治(zhi)者休兵止戈,與(yu)民休息,不奪(duo)農時(shi),廣辟(pi)草(cao)萊,長此以往自然積淀出穩定內(nei)斂、愛好(hao)和(he)平的(de)(de)(de)(de)文化性(xing)格。

中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)很(hen)早就(jiu)完成了(le)一個相對(dui)獨立地理(li)大區域內的(de)統一,中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)政治(zhi)歷來(lai)(lai)偏重中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)央的(de)凝合。對(dui)外(wai)修文德以來(lai)(lai)之(zhi)(zhi),對(dui)內行仁政而(er)化(hua)之(zhi)(zhi)。中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)人深知(zhi),徒恃(shi)武力不能長久(jiu)。在文化(hua)生活中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong),亦求有余不盡,文學藝(yi)術上推崇空靈蘊藉、清逸淡遠的(de)風(feng)格(ge)。正(zheng)是這種深沉而(er)強韌的(de)和平精神(shen),使得民族文化(hua)的(de)生命力量(liang),不至于向外(wai)馳逐,騁嗜奔(ben)欲(yu),耗(hao)竭過度,保證(zheng)了(le)中(zhong)(zhong)(zhong)華文明的(de)“連(lian)續性”發(fa)展。

中(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)(hua)文(wen)明“統(tong)一性(xing)”和“和平性(xing)”兩義相(xiang)輔相(xiang)成。中(zhong)(zhong)國(guo)(guo)(guo)的(de)統(tong)一建立于以(yi)“中(zhong)(zhong)”為核心的(de)“家國(guo)(guo)(guo)天下”文(wen)化(hua)理念(nian)上,從(cong)內(nei)心融合(he)達于物我(wo)融合(he)、天人融合(he)。修身(shen)齊家治國(guo)(guo)(guo)平天下,從(cong)自我(wo)延綿開去,傳統(tong)國(guo)(guo)(guo)家被看(kan)成人倫關(guan)系(xi)的(de)投射,“天地位焉,萬物育焉”,人人各得(de)其所,四(si)海皆兄弟,天下為一家。由此(ci)可(ke)見(jian),中(zhong)(zhong)華(hua)(hua)文(wen)明的(de)“統(tong)一性(xing)”更多靠文(wen)化(hua)的(de)和平化(hua)育,偏重內(nei)在的(de)“包容”和充實,斯(si)可(ke)謂以(yi)“和平”“包容”求“統(tong)一”,方得(de)其悠久“連續”。
